I am not a beauty blogger but I'm happy to say that I've been learning a lot from my beauty blogger & editor friends. My colleagues from the magazine industry have been asking me if I want to write about beauty products and make-up. I'm like... "not yet! I still have to learn a lot about it. Plus, I don't even know how to do my own makeup!"
Here's my first attempt to write about make-up! 5 make-up must-haves for every girl (and gay) :P
1. FOUNDATION
I don't like putting foundation because it feels so heavy and icky. I have oily skin so I always have a problem finding a decent foundation that won't make my face look like a frying pan. But I think everyone should have a foundation to cover your imperfections. We all want to hide those dark circles & annoying acne marks so we can look flawless.
My friends have been raving about Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer. I heard it is their most popular product. Finally, the best-selling Tinted Moisturizer
is available in a convenient compact! Laura’s latest innovation features a lightweight crème
formula that gives skin a dewy,
natural-looking flawless finish ideal for all skin types. With SPF 20 and a hint of color, this portable compact is perfect for travel and
touch ups on the go.
2. RED LIPSTICK
Since I don't know how to put make-up, lipsticks are my savior. I feel like I'm always good to go whenever I'm wearing lipstick. If I were to choose 3 must-have shades, it will be Red, Pink & Nude. You can never go wrong with these colors. Red is perfect for night events, pink can be used for daytime events, and nude for everyday wear.
Laura introduces a luxurious new lipstick
that gives lips the ultimate in colour, texture, and finish. In one smoothing
swipe, the crème formula envelops lips in rich colour with a semi-lustrous
finish.
3. MASCARA
I love getting eyelash extensions because I'm always lazy to curl my lashes & put mascara. But make-up artists have been telling me that it is bad for my lashes. :( They said I should just put false eyelashes. But then again, I am clueless (and lazy to learn) about that.
Open your eyes to Laura’s luxurious new
mascara—created specifically to give eyes the look of false lashes. The formula is extra-smooth, glossy and
good-for-lashes, created with a blend of waxes and absolutely no fibers. You’ll never need to bother with false eyelashes again!
4. LIQUID EYELINER
Eyeliner is my secret to having not-so-chinita eyes! I was so addicted to eyeliners when I was in college so I started trying out different kinds of eyeliners. For me, liquid eyeliners are better for oily skin because pencil eyeliners tend to smudge.
Laura has developed the
ultimate liquid eye liner! Graphic Liquid Eye Liner is a glossy, long wearing
liquid eyeliner with an easy to
apply felt tip applicator. Its water-resistant
formula does not transfer and it is also tear-resistant.
5. NUDE EYESHADOW
Putting eyeshadow is my ultimate make-up frustration. I'm Chinese so my eyes don't have epicanthal folds. Whenever I put black or colored eyeshadow, I feel like it's too much. I look like a clown or worse, I look like I just got punched in the eye. That's why I prefer nude / brown shade whenever I (attempt to) put eyeshadow. I love that it looks so clean & natural.
Laura Mercier
Illuminating Eye Colour has a multi-dimensional, luminous pearl finish with a
soft, bouncy texture for excellent colour pay-off and a smooth, even
application. It stays
colour-true and does not fade throughout the day. It is also crease-resistant and transfer-resistant.
What's inside my LAURA MERCIER loot bag: Tinted Moisturizer Creme Compact Broad Spectrum SPF 20 sunscreen, Long lash mascara, Undercover pot & Tightline cake eyeliner.
So excited to use these! Thank you Laura Mercier & Denise Roco.
Hope this post made sense! :)
