Where the wild things art

This is not your ordinary make-up/beauty event ;)

It was truly an artsy day! Before I went to Glass Door for the Art Deco event, Joh and I took outfit shots in this really cool wall in BHS.

Check my Martine Cajucom-inspired outfit & know more about the brands I'm wearing HERE ;)

So after our mini-photoshoot we walked to Glass Door (this is my not-so secret place in Fort). I didn't know what to expect. I'm used to going to beauty/make-up events but I was so surprised when I went inside the venue...

I was like "ooooh jungle feel!" but why is there a painting of a lion in the corner??

And then I saw the tables filled with art materials. :O

After a few minutes, the people from Art Deco / Beauty Bar explained what will happen in the event. Since ARTDECO’s new collection, Jungle Fever, is all about colors & tropical elements, they want us to experience the safari in a whole different way!

They handed us cocktails (yes at 4pm hihihi) and I was totally amazed when they told us we were gonna do acrylic painting. I was excited because I paint but also scared because I only do oil painting! Plus I wasn't too confident because I don't like showing people my artwork =))

Amanda De Ocampo, a graduate from Parsons, was our teacher that afternoon. She's so talented! I can say she's really an effective art teacher. I hope she has workshops! I super want to start doing acrylic painting :D

Brought my bes with me! Paint date :P

Painting is really therapeutic. Everytime I do this, I feel like I leave the real world and enter my (own) little and quiet world... Ahhh :)

Mine looks like a cat. HAHAHA. Lol pls don't judge!

After 2 hours of painting...

Whee! Finished product :D My mom was so proud of me when she saw my "painting" NAKS. Lololol! Hi mother (I know you're reading this!)

With my co-artists (LOL JOKE) Joh and Kimmy, showing off our works! :) What do you think? Perhaps we should start selling these... Just kidding!!! :P

I'm sure you guys are wondering what's the connection of doing acrylic painting and make-up? Well people who do make-up are artists. Actually, during this activity, I kept telling the beauty bloggers (Martha, Shen and Nikki) that they'll surely create great artworks because super galing nila mag-makeup! :) It's amazing how make-up artists totally change a person's look by using their magical tools aka make-up.  Of course, they need the best make-up to help them enhance peoples' looks!
After our painting session, we checked out Art Deco's new collection called Jungle Fever. These are my top picks :D Don't you just love the chic packaging?? So artsy!!
