Master cleanse versus juice fasting

FINALLY blogging about my master cleanse and juice fasting experiences! :p

A lot have been emailing me to blog about my master cleanse experience eversince I posted about it on instagram. But it took me forever to write about it because sadly, I only lasted for 3 days. But before I babble about my funny experience, I'll share with you first the ingredients (price list, too!), procedure and the importance of getting the right ingredients and the diet.

This printout was given to me when I bought the ingredients in HEALTHY OPTIONS. No, this is not sponsored for all you guys there who might think I'm blogging about this just because of promotional purposes. I thought about doing the master cleanse because I've been reading about it plus my friend Maui love doing this!

This is what I spent for the ingredients. I suggest you buy a bigger maple bottle for the people who'll be doing the master cleanse for 10 days.

OK. So the usual master cleanse should be 10 days but guess what... I ONLY LASTED FOR 3 DAYS. I suggest you guys google about it before doing it and buy the proper ingredients. Don't just buy any salt / tea / pepper / lemon juice and maple syrup! It's so important that you buy sea salt, organic cayenne pepper, pure lemon juice (Actually better to use real lemons!), organic maple syrup (grade B) and smooth move tea. These are all available in Healthy Options.

When I went there to buy the ingredients, I was so shocked with my bill (hahaha I'm so kuripot!!). It's expensive to do master cleanse. I mean, the ingredients are expensive. I guess good things can be really pricey. Lol!

My first day was pretty tolerable. I love food but I can control myself. Second day was the worse. I had headaches (I read that it's just normal to experience this). Third day, I seriously felt hunger and frustration plus I felt so weak.

They suggest that you don't move too much when you do master cleanse. But because my job requires me to move (aka run around in malls and do pullouts), I got drained so easily. Plus, I didn't prepare properly for it. Sure, I ate salads the day before day 1 but I probably should've done a 3 day prep.

I've read articles that it's just okay to do master cleanse for 3 days. But the advisable length is 10 days. I lost 6 pounds (you're expected to lose 2 pounds a day) but my editor in chief at Women's Health told me it's just water weight and you'll just gain it easily when you start eating normally again.

I didn't do this cleanse for weight loss, I actually felt so unhealthy because the past few months I haven't been eating properly (I skip meals like crazy, I eat a lot of junks/sweets) so I decided to do this. If you're going to do this for weight loss, I suggest you don't. Well that's just me. :P I mean it's still best to have a balanced diet (meaning clean eats) plus exercise!

The Good Juice is different. I'll quote Ghia, the owner of The Good Juice.

"Treat it as water. I dont have a program like nung pino-provide ng iba. I want people to treat The Good Juice as an additional juice to nourish their body. And it's up to them if they want to juice fast but i always tell them to ask their doctor first kase i dont know their health condition.  The first time i started juicing, i really dont encourage yung may program coz hindi naman ako doctor to provide a health program and iba-iba tayo ng health condition. And i just talked to my nutritionist yesterday, i asked kung advisable ba magbigay ng program. Her answer is 'no'.  better pa rin na to eat ur regular food. Mas healthy mas better shempre :) less fried foods, meat and dairy. If people want to really lose weight they must commit to apply a healthy lifestyle.  The juice can help but it's not only the solution.  But i encourage yung 1 day juice fast. 1 Day is fine. Fasting is proven healthy naman.  1 day of cleansing is okay talaga. I did that last week. 6 bottles of 260ml super okay to sustain me for day. :) hope this helps"

I drank 5 juices during my day 1. My "Fasting" day. It's tolerable for me. I didn't feel hunger. Perhaps because ang yummy nung juices. 1 main reason why I didn't like master cleanse is the taste of the drink. Nakakasawa! But drinking different flavors of juice is perfect for me. For day 2, I drank it as water lang and ate healthy food with it. You'll actually notice the effects of juicing. Better bowel movement, glowing skin, feeling lighter talaga.

So if you're gonna ask me which I liked better, of course, it's pretty obvious. Juicing/Juice fast! (c/o The Good Juice). Not only it's yummy, feel ko healthier kasi veggies and fruits eh! In Master Cleanse, you don't get these nutrients. Plus, I like The Good Juice because it's affordable compared to the master cleanse ingredients and other detox/juice brands out there.

If you're interested to try THE GOOD JUICE, text Ghia at 09178420414.

It depends on you guys talaga. This is my experience and I can't assure you that you'll like juice fasting better than master cleanse, vice versa. So it's better to try both then let me know which one works for you! If you already tried both, share your experiences naman to me! I wanna hear them ;)
